A government entity in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly motivated Sustainability Manager to lead the development and implementation of sustainability strategies that support environmental stewardship, resource efficiency, and long-term organizational objectives. The successful candidate will work across departments to drive impactful initiatives and ensure alignment with national and international sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainability policies, strategies, and action plans.
- Lead initiatives focused on carbon reduction, energy efficiency, waste management, and resource conservation.
- Monitor and report on ESG and sustainability performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks.
- Conduct sustainability assessments and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams, government stakeholders, consultants, and external partners.
- Manage sustainability reporting and prepare presentations for senior leadership.
- Promote awareness and engagement through training and internal sustainability programs.
- Support renewable energy, climate resilience, and environmental innovation projects.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies and programs.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, climate initiatives, and ESG reporting practices.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Professional certifications related to sustainability or environmental management are desirable.
